Students needed a clearer connection between mechanics equations and the behaviour of a physical structure.

The approach

The collaboration combined a physical arch-bridge model with a Simdroid digital twin. Moving weights on the physical model changes the displayed stress and deformation; reduced-order modelling supports interactive feedback.
